You Are Not Alone

In a world with over 7.5 billion souls incarnated as humans, remember you are not alone.

You may be feeling lost, confused, and angry at the state of the world.

Whatever you are feeling, feel it and accept it.

Many of us are suffering with scarcity, food insecurity, financial inscurity…a lot of instability.

Everyday and every moment is a chance to do better or at least try to!

Try harder and harder everyday. Only you can fix you. So stay strong & determined.

Set goals. Create a vision board. Have positive self-talk.

And where ever you get inspiration from, do that daily.

In this solo episode, my message is created to inspire you to trust the process. The state of the world can be overwhelming and extremely stressful. However, it doesn’t have to be this way. Our time and energy are our most valuable currencies! Set boundaries for yourself to conserve your precious commodities.

Topics of Discussion:

  • Trust the process
  • You are always where you need to be
  • Setting boundaries with relationships
  • Finding your passion on purpose
  • Keeping your mind and heart open to opportunities

We Are the Ones We Have Been Waiting For

“Waiting for what?” you may ask. Waiting for someone to save us. Waiting for the “government” to solve our problems. Waiting for the world to change.

Well, my friends…I have news for you:

WE ARE THE ONE’S WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!

We can no longer continue moving forward giving away our power to people who do not value our well-being. If our leaders truly cared about their people, they would not leave their state or country without access to the resources they need to survive.

We have been lied to for far too long and it is time for us to rise in truth collectively!

We must take action as individuals to support our communities the best we can. Now more than ever, we must settle our differences with one another and unite together through the power of love.

Hate, fear, judgment, shame and guilt are low vibrations of consciousness and only attract more negative experiences.

When we rise in love and conquer our problems with faith and willingness to change, we will begin to see powerful transformation around the world.

Don’t be afraid to speak your truth. Speak with love. Always have an open heart and open mind when listening to others. Try not to react, rather be proactive.

Together we can dream and create a world that is just, sustainable and abundant for all to thrive in.

Blessings to all, XOXO.

National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

September is recognized as Suicide Prevention Awareness month.

Mental health conditions such as suicide, are the results of untreated mental illnesses. Every year thousands of individuals die by suicide, leaving behind their friends and family often shocked and confused. Feelings of shame and stigma can prevent someone from talking openly about their illness.

Mental health is something that is not “mainstream”, however it is something that many people face challenges with finding solutions for.

This month is a time to share stories and resources in effort to raise awareness on this highly taboo and stigmatized topic. By providing an opportunity to reach out to those affected by suicide, raise awareness and connect individuals with suicidal ideation to treatment services.

Life is full of ups and downs, and finding the balance is the most important part, yet sometimes the most challenging.

Drew Hahn, suicide attempt survivor shares his story of overcoming his challenges with seasonal depression and recovering from the suicide trauma. Drew is a suicide attempt survivor who advocates for suicide awareness and prevention. He is currently working for San Diego County as a mental health social worker.

He has been recognized by his community through his work of raising awareness and sharing his message of resilience.

Finding Inspiration

Talks of Life podcast was created to be an alternative media outlet for people to source inspirational stories and meaningful conversations.

Inspiration comes in many forms. Some may find it through watching a video, listening to music, spending time with nature or simply sitting with themselves in meditation. Personally, I find inspiration from other people. Other people inspire me to make a difference and remind me that I am not alone.

Have you ever seen someone picking up trash along the beach and after you felt inspired to help? Well, that’s an inspiration in action. There are passionate individuals, organizations and businesses whose mission is to provide a solution to one or more of the global issues we are facing today.

At times, it can be overwhelming to think about solving the world’s problems. However, when I discover a new organization or meet someone who is helping to restore our planet, hope is restored.

I love listening and learning from others in an attempt to understand their perspective on life. Human beings are natural story-tellers and my intention with these conversations is to invite you to a world of change-makers who are indeed transforming the world, one day at a time.

My hope for sharing these stories with you, is to inspire you to imagine a better world for us to live in.

“Stay on your game and keep going for your dreams. The world needs that special gift that only you have.”

Marie forleo

No matter where you are in your journey of life, I encourage you to do more activities that fill your spirit with inspiration.

  • What makes your spirit come alive?
  • What do you feel called to bring to life?
  • What are some things you are interested in providing solutions to?

The world needs your creativity and only you have the power to bring it to life.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

Margaret Mead

Thriving During Times of Uncertainty

The year 2020 has brought an interesting plot twist to the timeline of human existence.

We have not experienced anything like this and are still learning to adapt day-by-day.

I have chose to retreat in Quintana Roo, Mexico and have been enjoying the tropical weather here. Much like everywhere else in the world, masks are to be worn inside of stores and shops and the locals are grateful for any business they can get.

Their economy depends on tourism dollars and since travel restrictions have scared everyone from traveling, it has been a rough few months for the natives here as well. Some of the street vendors have pretty unique face masks for people to buy.

No matter what part of the world you are in, more than likely you have been impacted by the effects of COVID-19.

Whether you lost your job, are struggling to pay bills, or simply fearful of contracting the virus- remember one thing: YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

I have to remind myself this daily.

In the age of information, our brains can become overloaded with headlines, news articles, memes, and other forms of advertisements. This influx of information can be useful, but it can also be damaging.

If you are someone who spends hours watching mainstream media, how do you feel after watching? You may experience feelings of depression, anxiety, lack of purpose, disempowerment, etc. Same goes for someone who scrolls mindlessly on Facebook, Instagram, or Tik Tok.

Don’t suppress your potential by constantly consuming.

When was the last time you painted something? Journaled? Crafted a Pinterest inspired project? Or simply created something out of your imagination?

During these times of distress and uncertainty, I highly recommend you to engage in these forms of activity to protect your mental health.

We are all in this together! Change is the only constant. We can continue to evolve into a globalized society, but we must engage in understanding of one another.

I encourage you to be mindful of your daily activities, who you are surrounding yourself with and how much mainstream media you are consuming.

Above all, continue acts of kindness and be a helping hand to someone if you can.

We are all doing the best we can with what we’ve got.

Stay strong and don’t give up. We can do this!

With love and light,

Brittany XOXO

Trust the Struggle

“Going by my past journey, I am not certain where life will take me, what turns and twists will happen; nobody knows where they will end up. As life changes direction, I’ll flow with it.” – Katrina Kaif

Life is a beautiful experience, filled with ups and downs. Much like a roller coaster ride.

During these times of distress, it is important to make time for yourself.

You must make yourself a priority and commit to working on yourself.

Become obsessed with self-development and feed your mind with positive affirmations.

Tell yourself you will be great!

Use affirmations like:

  • I am open to change and opportunity.
  • I am worthy.
  • I have all the power I need.
  • I make my dreams my reality.
  • I give my unique gifts to the world.
  • I contain multitudes.
  • I will be my own best advocate.
  • I have the strength to succeed.
  • I am the author of my own destiny.
  • I am responsible for my own happiness.
  • I give and receive love each day.
  • I will triumph over all challenges.
  • I have the power to choose.
  • To take care of others, I need to take care of myself.
  • I believe in myself.

It is inevitable that you will face challenges in life. There are going to be times when you feel like giving up and feel extremely dissatisfied with life.

It’s easy to fall into the thought pattern of “I am not good enough.”, “I’ll never be successful.”, “Nothing ever works out for me.”

These are toxic thoughts and are self-destructive.

Understand and recognize that your mind is a powerful tool.

You can reprogram your beliefs and thought patterns to benefit your own self-transformation.

Exclude yourself from drama or negativity and surround yourself with uplifting people who inspire and encourage growth.

Above all, believe in yourself and your dreams. Stand firmly for what you believe in. Stand your ground and set boundaries.

If you believe you have a problem, take action to find a solution!

Be a solutionary!

Who is a Solutionary? A solutionary is an individual, group, or organization who chooses to be a part of the world’s solutions.

“Someone who finds revolutionary answers to life problems. A problem solver, an inventive activist. A type of revolutionary who makes change by providing a better way to do things.” Sourced from urban dictionary

You cannot grow without struggle, you cannot develop strength without resistance. Pain is your friend. Maybe not in the moment, but for the long-term benefit evolution of our soul.

Let go of past judgements, experiences, and memories that have created pain. Accept what you cannot change and learn from the lesson that was presented to you.

Find Your Why

Have a clear vision for what you do want!

A stronger you, is a better you. You have the power. Take control. Take responsibility. Believe in yourself.

Go on adventures to find yourself and never be afraid to leave your comfort zone.

I encourage you to discover more about yourself by travelling to new places and meeting new people. Explore the unknown and take the road less traveled.

Engage in meaningful conversation, read a book, read an article online, write poetry, eat ‘real’ food, stay hydrated, exercise, meditate, discover your passion, practice mindfulness, play, experience, and grow!

Challenge = Growth

If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesnt change you.

Keep going and keep growing! Struggle makes you stronger.

Change is the only constant.

When we live habitually and do the same routine daily, we become very comfortable with what we have and what we know.

Life can become stagnant.

Work hard and make no more excuses. Turn off your fear. Be fearless.

Is it going to be easy? No.

Is it going to be hard? Hell yeah.

Push through the pains. Face your demons, your fears, your limiting beliefs.

Your mind is powerful.

Don’t give up. Be relentless and do not resist.

Where there is a will, there’s a way!

You can have, be, and do anything.

You are a powerful creator and you are much stronger than you think.

Today, make the decision to give more attention to what’s going right in your life, rather than focusing on what is wrong.

You deserve more out of your life than problems.

Choose to take action and make things happen to create the life you want to live.

Embrace the ebb and flow to life and set sail with a positive outlook on the horizon.

“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” – Theodore Roosevelt

Welcome to 2020!

It’s crazy to think about how much has happened over the last decade. More technology, more people, more destruction, more preservation, etc.

The ebb and flow of creation continues to unfold.

I remember envisioning the year 2020 as a kid in elementary school to be surrounded by flying cars, food created from a push of a button, and robots who do things for us.

I find it pretty entertaining to observe and understand the “future” we are actually living in now.

We do have the capability to “get” food at a click of button via our laptop or smart phone apps. And we basically do have “robotic-type” cars that can drive for us.

Let’s not forget about those fancy virtual reality goggles that can imitate an alternative reality.

Is this the future we really want to create for humans to survive in?

How can we actually sustain ourselves if we don’t know how to grow our own food or hunt for our own supply of protein?

I only ask these questions because I believe it’s important to face the reality we are living and reflect on our choice making collectively.

It starts with the individual and their day-to-day choice to consume or to create culture.

It’s nearly impossible to go a day without spending a dollar, but it’s not impossible to support your community with that dollar.

Give back to your community by supporting your local farmers (if there are any), purchase goods such as soaps, sauces, cheese, meats, etc. from people who have spent time to provide fresh, local, and quality resources.

It’s cheaper and tastes better! #Winning

“It Might Be Time” is an inspirational, groovy tune to welcome you to the new decade, 2020!!!

Wishing you all a year of abundant wealth, health, and happiness.

Blessings,

Brittany
